At GE/STUDIO we run 3 different models of Risograph. We have a brand new MF9350, an SF9350, and an RZ-220AW.
This allows us to print Black, HD Black, Fluoro Pink, Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Gold and process combinations of them . Other colours can be arranged but would incur drum set-up fees.
Working with Riso is not like working with digital printing: files need to be prepared correctly as the colours are all treated as spot colours as in screen-printing. Duo/Tri/Quadtones are also possible but you need to consult with us before sending a file as there are specific requirements for printing Risographics.
We can print on as low as 46gsm newsprint (with particular ink coverage requirements) and as high as 350gsm for some cardstocks.
Riso requires non-coated non-synthetic stocks as RISO ink is non-toxic soy or rice bran oil based. This means it is a cold setting ink and needs an absorbant surface to ensure the ink does not smudge. We can recommend the right stocks for your specific printing needs. By default we use either a 100% Recycled and/or Carbon Neutral stock for all our printing but work with all the major paper merchants in NZ: BJ Ball, Spicers, B&F, Papersource and a few other suppliers.
